The forest we use.

 
Where it is

A small woodland in a Kent village location. Attached to a school that enjoys 37 acres of grounds. The woodland is set just across a public footpath at a corner of the school site. 

 

 

Type of woodland 

It is an ancient broadleaf woodland with oak, yew, sycamore, horse chestnut and rhododendron predominantly. 

 

 

Main features

A fire circle with 1M fire pit and benches. Mud kitchen area. Climbing trees. Benches for tool working. Reading arbour. Bug hotel. 

 

 

Habitats and mammals at site

Badger setts, evidence of fox and rabbit. Woodpeckers. Owls. And many more birds.

 

 

Flora and trees at site
Daffodils, snowdrops, bluebells, wild orchids, wood anemones. Oak, beech, horse chestnut, elder, hawthorn, rhododendron, sycamore and many more young saplings.
